Contracts and Procurement Solicitor (£44,496 to £53,088)

Our Shared Legal Service undertakes legal work for and advises Members, Committees and officers at the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster City Council.

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic England and Wales qualified lawyer who has contracts and procurement experience, and who is able to provide specialist contracts and procurement advice to Officers and Members on a wide range of matters. The post holder will enjoy a wealth of challenging and varied legal work, sometimes within tight timescales. The successful candidate will strengthen our Contracts and Employment Team. 

If you are successful you will be responsible for drafting various forms of contracts including ICT services contracts and construction contracts, drafting procurement documentation, advising on the Public Contracts Regulations and Standing Orders, and acting as the Legal Adviser to council departments on a wide range of legal matters that fall within the team’s remit. You will also be keen to develop your skills in other areas of legal work covered by the team. You will need to manage your own workloads and juggle competing demands and deadlines.

You will be a confident and skilled lawyer with a “can do” attitude, have a commercial outlook and will look for innovative and collaborative ways to deliver a client focused service which adds value for our clients.

The successful candidate will be based in Kensington Town Hall and will be employed by Westminster City Council.
